So you’ve managed to save enough of your hard earned cash to allow you to book the perfect holiday abroad, but you’re a little concerned about getting everything done before you make your booking and go away. Well, never fear that’s what i’m here for.
Many people fail to adequately prepare for their holidays and this can often mean that the few days before you travel end up being a mad rush. This is never a good idea because we tend to forget or overlook things when we’re stressed. So, with that in mind i’ve created this pre-holiday checklist guide to help you out.

Before You Book
Never go straight to a travel agency website and book your holiday without first performing some research on the area, and the particular hotel you’re considering. For example, if you’re considering staying at the luxury Las Farolas resort in Costa Del Sol, then make sure you take some time to search for this resort on Google and read through some independent customer reviews, as this will let you know what sort of standards you can expect.
You can do the same with airlines if you like, although most of them are of a reasonable standard nowadays.
Before You Travel
There are numerous things you’ll need to do before you travel, so to make it a bit easier for you, i’ve opted to write them on a bullet point list, which should allow you to print this post and cross them off one by one.

Obtain travel insurance – make sure you read through different policies and opt for the one most suited to your needs and current situation.

Get EHIC – For those who are traveling to a European country, purchasing a European Health Insurance Card is essential. This will mean if you get ill or have an accident whilst you’re away, you won’t have to fork out for overly inflated hospital bills.

Check The Date On Your Passport – Yes that’s right, unfortunately many people do turn up to UK airports will out-of-date passports, which obviously causes a lot of hassle, so make sure you check yours a couple of weeks before you travel, as re-issues can take a while to come through if you don’t want to spend a lot of money.

Inform Your Bank – Though this isn’t essential, it’s always a good idea to let your bank know you intend to travel abroad, as they have occasionally been known to freeze accounts when cards are used in unusual places.

Exchange Your Cash – It really is important that you exchange your money before you leave the UK because if the exchange rate is far poorer in the country you’re traveling to, you’ll have no choice but to accept it if you wait until you arrive.
