The House of Mangaldas Girdhardas (MG)- one of the finest residential mansion from the early 20th century and the venue of the terrace eatery 'Agashiye' (the Lonely Planet guide describes it as the '…best dining experience in Ahmedabad'), the courtyard café 'Green House' and 'The HBM Lounge & Courtyard' officially opened its ten room residential hotel and a new lifestyle shop that carries a range of signature handcrafted Gifts, Indian Menswear and Home Decor products, on November 22, 2004.
The House of MG is the only 'boutique' category hotel in Ahmedabad. This stately heritage property has been tastefully refurbished to retain its old-world charm but with all the amenities and comforts of contemporary living. With the addition of these ten sumptuously furnished rooms, it can now offer a complete hospitality package to its patrons. The discerning British travel guide 'Sawdays - Places to Stay in India' has singled out The House of MG as the only hotel worth mention, in its Ahmedabad section. This perhaps indicates the uniqueness and charm of this Metro Heritage property.
Of the ten rooms, one is a Grand Suite, five are Grand Deluxe, one is Deluxe, two are Verandah Suites and one is a terrace room. Most rooms have a jhoola (swing) and all have air-conditioning, refrigerator, electrically operated safe, Internet connection, hot-water kettle and multiple telephones. The room size varies from 400 sq.ft to 800 sq.ft. and the tariff ranges from Rs.1900 to Rs.4,900 per night for single occupancy.
Another unique feature of this Hotel is that each room contains a catalogue of its signature range of furniture, light fittings, floor coverings and bed linen, including some of the decorative objects. The House of MG is conveniently located in the city centre, at the T- junction of an un-congested 80-foot wide road. There is ample parking space within the complex with valet parking available. Both the Airport and the Railway Station are within a 7 km distance.

Sidi Saiyad Mosque :
Across the street from the gate of the House of MG stands the Sidi Saiyad Mosque which was built around 1572. This mosque was a part of the city wall of Ahmedabad. It is named after Sidi Saiyed - one Ahmed Shah`s slaves.
Sidi Saiyed - one Ahmed Shah`s slaves. This mosque is well known the world over for its magnificent jalis or filligree carved in stone. These jalis are framed within semicircular windows of the mosque. This tracery of trees and palms and flowers, carved in a single slab of stone each are a wonder to behold. The delicate and neat carved out lines are evenly spread all over the jali to form a pattern covering the entire surface.Inspite of being surrounded by traffic and pollution, this historical monument has lost nothing in terms of beauty and intricate craftsmanship. To miss it would be unfortunate especially since one would be just across the street, given the fact that many tourists come specially to see it.

Reservations with check-in prior to 0700 hr are held from the previous evening and charged from the previous evening itself.
In the absence of arrival details, reservations will be deemed as guaranteed upto 1500 hrs only.
Cancellations made less than 24 hrs prior to arrival or non-materialised confirmed bookings would attract one night's room charge as retention in case of all non-Apex bookings.
