"Zum goldenen Kreuz" (At golden Cross) is a sign which was put up at the front of a newly built hotel back in 1889. That hotel became what we know today as Hotel Central.
Osijek's Hotel Central has had its prominent position at Ante Starčević Square for over a century. European nobility, various artists used to stay at the hotel. It was a place where some known and unknown love adventures of princes and kings took place.

Accommodation space of the Hotel Central includes 39 rooms. The hotel is decorated in modern style. All the rooms are equipped with a mini bar, telephone, satellite television and access to the Internet. The rooms are spacious and functional: ideal for a rest after a hard day's work.
In the hotel there are 20 single rooms, 17 double bedrooms and 2 de luxe rooms.
Breakfast (rich buffet) is served in the restaurant of the hotel from 6 to 10 a.m.
