Climate:
Summer - the temperature varies from 25 degrees at night to 35 degrees C in the heat of the day with high humidity factor.
Winter - the temperature varies from night to day. Daytime temperatures are mild normally about 25 degrees C. Nighttime temperatures are considerably colder dropping to below 19 degrees C.
What to Take:
December to March: Summer Clothes. A warm jacket or jersey for the cooler mornings and evenings.
April to November: Winter clothes. A very warm insulated Jacket for the cold morning and nights. Hats, scarf and gloves are recommended.
Comfortable walking shoes track shoes or boots are useful for the bush walks. Sandals are useful for walking around the lodge. Shorts and t-shirt needed all year round for the warm midday period.
Swimming costume, sun block, insect repellent, sun hat, sunglasses and lip balm are recommended.

POACHERS PARADISE
Groups will have the opportunity to venture into the St. Lucia Wilderness area (World Heritage Site). Here they will participate in activities such as long boat safaris with ten man inflatable canoes, Myths and Legends of the St Lucia crocodile (presentation on the banks of the lake), interactive anti-poaching program as well as taking out illegal gill nets and traps. All in conjunction with the KZN wildlife service.

FOOTSTEPS OF A GAME RANGER
A group experience involving different facets of a 'day in the life of a Game Ranger'. Individuals will be exposed to various bush skills such as tracking, shooting, survival skills and many more.

The group of intrepid explorers are issued game vehicles, scout, Global Positioning System and an 'old journal' of a past adventurer, and then tasked to venture into the reserve and to follow in the footsteps of our wild 'bush' pioneer. From rope river crossings to 'shooting' game for the pot, the adventure is endless!
CHARLIE BRAVO ONE ZERO
Operation 'search and rescue' involving teams being dropped off at certain co-ordinates in the reserve and with the aid of military equipment such as GPS and hi-powered radios, locating team members and securing 'priority' positions are the order of the operation.

How to Get There:
BY ROAD:
· First Route:
From Durban (276km) Proceed on the N2 North, past Tongaat, Stanger, Empangeni, Mtubatuba to Hluhluwe. Take the Hluhluwe/Sodwana Bay off-ramp. It is also signposted Zululand Tree Lodge. At the top of the off-ramp turn left onto the P453. Travel a further 2.5km and you will see the Ubizane Wildlife Reserve’s entrance on your left.
· Second Route:
From Johannesburg (560km) Proceed on the Witbank freeway (N4) towards Middelburg. At Middelburg take the N11 to Ermelo. At Ermelo take the R29 to Piet Retief, Pongola to Mkhuze and then Hluhluwe. Take the Hluhluwe/Sodwana off-ramp. At the top of the off-ramp turn right onto the P453 over the N2 flyover. Travel a further 2.5km and you will see the Ubizane Wildlife Reserve entrance on the left.
