Dawson’s Game and Trout Lodge, a unique African experience, is situated in Mpumalanga where the last remnant of the Great Rift Valley forms the Escarpment, separating the High- and Lowveld with their dramatically different climates, flora and fauna.
Dawson’s lies at the transition of these two regions, where Highveld Blesbuck meet Lowveld Impala, with dramatic mountain backdrops forming perennial streams and waterfalls that is the Komati River.

Dawson’s Game and Trout Lodge offers exclusive, luxury accommodation in eight Individual Colonial styled rooms. Richly decorated to create a warm African ambiance, each room offers en-suite bathrooms with elegant bath, spacious shower and heated towel rails, as well as fireplaces for those cold winter nights.
Our chef’s innovative talent will allow you to enjoy cuisine in its most exquisite form, whilst appreciating the wonderful tastes and aromas of Africa. Breakfast and lunch can be served either in the privacy of one’s room, on the veranda or enjoyed in the dining room.
For a romantic lunch, our chef will prepare a sumptuous picnic basket to enjoy at one of many secluded spots on the reserve. Finally, for a true African experience, dinner can be enjoyed in our traditional outdoor boma.

Climate:
Summer - the temperature varies from 10 degrees at night to 30 degrees C in the heat of the day. etc
Winter - the temperature varies from night to day. Daytime temperatures are mild normally about 20 degrees C. Night time temperatures are considerably colder dropping to below –02 degrees C. Temperatures drop dramatically just after sunset.
What to Take:
December to March, Summer Clothes. A warm jacket or jersey for the cooler mornings and evenings.
April to November, winter clothes. A very warm insulated Jacket for the cold morning and nights. Hats, scarf and gloves are recommended.
Comforatable walking shoes track shoes or boots are useful for the bush walks. Sandals are useful for walking around the lodge. Shorts and t-shirt needed all year round for the warm midday period.
Swimming costume, sunblock, insect repellent, sun hat, sunglasses and lip balm are recommended.

How to Get There:
By Air:
OPTION 1
From Johannesburg International Airport take the R21 to Boksburg, turning east to Witbank onto the the N12, which joins the N4. Follow the N4, turning off at Machadodorp onto the R541 and follow signs to Badplaas. At the T-junction turn left to Barberton (R38) and the entrance to the lodge is approximately 15.2 km up the road on your left.
OPTION 2
From Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport take the R40 to Barberton and turn off onto the R38 to Badplaas. The entrance to the lodge is approximately 37 km after the turn off on your right.
By Road:
OPTION 1
From Johannesburg take the N12 to Witbank, which joins the N4 and carry on towards Nelspruit. Turn off at Machadodorp (R541) and follow signs to Badplaas. At the T-junction, turn left to Barberton (R38) and the entrance to the lodge is approximately 15.2 km up the road on your left.
OPTION 2
From Midrand take the M1 North to Pretoria, following the N1 to Polokwane (Pietersburg) and branch off onto the N4 to Witbank and later Nelspruit. Follow directions to Machadodorp and the lodge as above.

Payment Details:
Full prepayment or payment of any outstanding balances for groups or FIT’s has to be settled as specified on the invoice prior to arrival. The invoice number must be stated on any payment transaction and the deposit slip must be received timeously. For any late payments the tour operator risks that their guests are charged rack rate.
Corporate Clients or Travel Agents requiring credit facilities will be required to complete a Three Cities Credit application for each Unit. Where credit facilities are granted credit limits will be set and must be maintained. Deposit requirements will however remain as a condition for group bookings. Foreign currencies will be accepted at the rate of exchange valid on the day payments are received. All accounts must be paid 30 Days from invoice directly to the hotel concerned
