The Blue Aegean Apartotel is situated in the resort of Gouves,18 Kms east of the city of Heraklion, on the north-east coast of Crete, and 50metres from the sandy beach.
The Blue Aegean is designed specifically for families with children, offering a wide range of hotel facilities combined with the convenience of self catering apartments. Comprised of forty beautifully appointed apartments located in eight separate buildings, each named for an island of the Aegean Sea, the accommodation offers comfort and quality, space and style for your enjoyment.
MAIN BUILDING
The Main Building is comprised of the reception, comfortable lounges and television areas, an Internet Corner, Restaurant and Pizza Oven, Bars and Sun Terraces. In addition you will find a Games Room and Table Tennis area, self-service laundry room, play area and park, children’s toilets, gymnasium, checkout room with showers, small library, mini market and gift shop.
SWIMMING POOL AND GARDENS
The swimming pool, lawns and gardens offer an oasis of relaxation and are designed with your enjoyment and safety in mind. There is also a paddling pool (depth 45 cm) for our smallest guests and a fully equipped playground.
DISABLED GUESTS
The Blue Aegean is designed to cater also for the needs of handicapped guests. Wheelchair ramps are situated throughout the main floor and grounds, there are also disabled facility toilets in the main building, plus four specifically designated ground floor apartments with special shower rooms equipped with wide outward opening doors and disabled WC facilities. Wheelchair ramps also mean convenience for pushchairs!
APARTMENT DESCRIPTION
The Blue Aegean has 34 one-bedroomed and 4 two bedroomed apartments, 2 two bedroomed villas and 4 one bedroomed villas all with a lounge and kitchen area, bathroom, and balcony. Colour coordinated with delightful attractiveness, the apartments are modern, spacious and comfortable. Each apartment is equipped with a microwave oven, toaster, electric cooking rings, kettle and teapots, fridge, full kitchen utensils, hairdryers, satellite TV, direct-line phone, bath with shower, or shower room in apartments for disabled guests. Air Conditioning and Safety Deposit Boxes are available for a small fee. The villas are set in their own pretty gardens in a quiet position and have both front and back facing patios.
WINING AND DINING
Our a la carte restaurant offers a wide range of dishes, including traditional English breakfast, Greek Meze, Italian Cuisine and International favourites. Set in shady comfort overlooking the pool, it is the perfect setting to enjoy your meal. You may also sample authentic Pizza from our wood-fired oven and delicious meat and fish from the charcoal grill. Children’s special requests, (fussy eaters) and dietary requirements catered with pleasure. Children’s seating and baby highchairs are available.
AEGEAN BAR
Offering a full range of drinks, snacks, cocktails, ice-cream, coffee and tea all day long. The Aegean Bar is a popular venue!
RECEPTION AND LOUNGE
English speaking receptionists are at your service 24 hours a day for information, money exchange etc. Our friendly and obliging staff will ensure your stay at the Blue Aegean is as enjoyable as possible.
Our welcoming and stylish lounge provides television areas, reading corners and card tables amidst a friendly atmosphere and comfortable surroundings. A small lending library is also situated here.
INTERNET
The Internet Corner provides our guests with access to the internet by using the Blue Aegean Internet card, which can be purchased from Reception. Microphones, camera and headsets are also available. Computer games are provided too.
GAMES ROOM
A spacious, bright and fun area for all the family - with air-hockey, pool tables, dart board and table tennis, the Games Room is open from morning till night.
We also provide a safe and enjoyable playground for smaller children.
SPORTS AND ACTIVITIES
An entertainment team at the Blue Aegean provides great entertainment and sports activities for your enjoyment. Pool games, volleyball on the nearby sandy beach, ‘aquarobics’, darts, pool matches and French boules to name a few.
