Cara Lodge was built in the 1840's and originally consisted of two houses. It has had a long and romantic history associated with it and was the homme of the first Lord Major of Geogetown. Over the years it has hosted many dignitaries including Edward V11 who stayed at the house in 1923 and planted the sapodilla tree in the front garden to mark the occaision. He was of course later to abdicate the throne and marry the American Wallis Simpson. Other dignitaries have included President Jimmy Carter in 1996, HRH Prince Charles in 2000, Prince Andrew in 2004 and in 2005 Mick Jagger and maxi Priest.
