Apollofirst - A Hampshire Classic Hotel
Reviews | More Images | Maps | Rates | Rooms Description | Reservation Form
Hampshire Classic Apollofirst Hotel is located in the so-called “Apollokwartier” (Apollo Quarter). The Beethovenstraat is just to the right of the hotel. This is an exclusive shopping street for discerning visitors. In addition to the variety of fashion shops of famous courtiers, you’ll also find delicatessen, restaurants, cafes, a supermarket, a drugstore, a drycleaner, etc. Everything to make the traveller feel at home.
Many neighborhoods in the Apollo Quarter were built in the classic “Amsterdam School” of style and architecture, developed by the famous architect H.P. Berlage. The so-called "South Axis” of Amsterdam is also in our immediate area. The famous Christie’s Action House is located here, in addition to a number of international banks. Also very close by is the Van Baerlestraat, with the centuries-old Concertgebouw, renowned for its unique acoustics, its world-famous orchestra, and the many well-known international guest musicians.
Apart from the variety of shops and cafes, the Van Baerlestraat is also home to the “Culinary 7,” some seven stylistically-different restaurants under the culinary direction of one of Amsterdam’s most creative chefs. As you walk on, you will be led to the regal Rijksmuseum. And just across from its serene museum gardens in the middle of the Museum Quarter are its world-famous neighbors, the Van Gogh Museum and the Stedelijke Museum. A little further to your right, you’ll find yourself in the P.C. Hoofdstraat, one of “Oud Zuid's” (Old South’s) most fashionable streets, encircled by chic shops with international “haute couture”, bistros, caterers, and even a diamond factory. A place to see and to be seen.
Visitors from outside of the European Union can shop tax-free. Near this exclusive area is the Vondel Park, a green oasis with grass fields and ponds. It is named after the famous Amsterdam poet, Joost van Vondel. At the edge of the park is the Hollandsche Manege (Stables), an indoor horse-riding school built in 1881. South of the Vondel Park you will see elegant tree-lined streets with beautiful villas.

Hotel Apollofirst – A Hampshire Classic Hotel is located on one of the most grand avenues in Amsterdam. Here, on the edge of the city center and in the cultural heart of Amsterdam, the Van Gogh Museum, the Stedelijk (City) Museum, as well as the Rijksmuseum, are located at short walking distance. The World Trade Center, the Concertgebouw, and the RAI Congress Center are just minutes from the hotel.
The hotel has over 40 comfortable, classically appointed rooms. All rooms are equipped with bath/shower and toilet, telephone, TV, alarm radio, hairdryer, and a safe.

Apart from the variety of shops and cafes, the Van Baerlestraat is also home to the “Culinary 7,” some seven stylistically-different restaurants under the culinary direction of one of Amsterdam’s most creative chefs.
The so-called “Apollokwartier” is immediately nearby, with its various international four- and five-star hotels, a prestigeous bank, an international auction house, and many neighborhoods built in the classic “Amsterdam School" of architecture and design by the famous architect H.P. Berlage. The Apollokwartier also includes an exclusive address for discerning shoppers: the Beethovenstraat.
In addition to a variety of shops, delicatessen, and cafes, you will find typical neighborhood businesses such as a shoe cobbler, a drugstore, drycleaner, etc. -- everything needed to make to the traveler feel at home.
